Donate for our seal ambulances

Help us purchase our 2 ambulances

Our seal ambulances are indispensable for providing rapid assistance to seals in distress. Almost every day, our staff and volunteers collect rescued seals – either from their rescue location or from the boat on the Wadden Islands – and bring them safely to our sanctuary in Lauwersoog.

We need your help to do this. We currently lease these vehicles, but this is very costly. As the lease contracts are expiring, we want to purchase the existing vehicles. This will leave us with more money for what really matters: caring for seals.

The cost is €12,500 per vehicle. This is a large amount, but together we can make it happen.

Every donation, large or small, helps us to provide seals in need with the timely assistance they require. Will you help us?

Seal, Sea, Science.

We believe that healthy seals and a healthy ocean are inextricably linked. At our center, researchers are studying what we can learn from this principle. For the seal, for our ocean, and for our own health. With a visit or donation, you support our work. Every contribution counts. Will you join us?

Best care for seals

When we started in 1971, the seal was nearly extinct in the Netherlands. Now, the seal is no longer on the Red List of Endangered Mammals. Free and in their natural habitat in the Wadden Sea: that's how we prefer to see seals. We owe this success largely to the tireless contributions of professionals, volunteers, and donors.

Sadly, there will always be seals that need help, for example, because they've become entangled in litter. If necessary, the animals are brought to our center. Here, veterinarians, caretakers, and volunteers are ready to help them. Our dedicated team rolls up their sleeves every day.
