I support the Seal Centre

And with that, help prevent seals from getting into trouble in the wild.

April Fools!

As exciting as it may sound... Our OnlyFins is, of course, an April Fool’s joke! But there is a serious message behind the joke.

Every day, we dedicate ourselves to helping seals in distress: animals found along the coast that are weak, sick or injured. Without help, they often won’t survive. At our centre, they receive the medical care, rest and food they need to be able to return to the wild. That work takes time, expertise... and money.

With your donation:

  • You support seals in rehabilitation, so they get the specialised help they need to recover and go back to the Wadden Sea;
  • You help us in preventing wild seals from getting into trouble;
  • We can train Seal Guards and deploy them along the Dutch coast;
  • You support our research into seals and their natural environment: the Wadden Sea.

Seal, Sea, Science.

We believe that healthy seals and a healthy ocean are inextricably linked. At our center, researchers are studying what we can learn from this principle. For the seal, for our ocean, and for our own health. With a visit or donation, you support our work. Every contribution counts. Will you join us?

Best care for seals

When we started in 1971, the seal was nearly extinct in the Netherlands. Now, the seal is no longer on the Red List of Endangered Mammals. Free and in their natural habitat in the Wadden Sea: that's how we prefer to see seals. We owe this success largely to the tireless contributions of professionals, volunteers, and donors.

Sadly, there will always be seals that need help, for example, because they've become entangled in litter. If necessary, the animals are brought to our center. Here, veterinarians, caretakers, and volunteers are ready to help them. Our dedicated team rolls up their sleeves every day.
